About Talland Church
TALLAND CHURCH as we see it today was not built to serve a large community but to maintain a holy site where the Christian faith had been established some 1500 years ago. The three Lancet Windows in the West Wall date the present church to the 13th century and much of the old woodwork & carved pews remained unspoilt by religious changes. For more about our Church at Talland, its history & characters and help with ancestral research visit our History Page.
CHURCH SERVICES generally take a monthly rotation pattern with our Vicar Reverend Marilyn Elliott taking the 3rd Sunday Parish Eucharist at 11.00am. With the arrival of Reverend Gary Eve into the Benefice, and as of March 2017 there will be Parish Eucharist at 11.00 on the 1st and 3rd Sunday each month. See Church Services for the latest information at Talland.
SPECIAL DAY, SPECIAL PLACE, SPECIAL WEDDING
A church wedding will add a spiritual dimension to your marriage. It is a ceremony that bonds you in front of your family & friends, and in the eyes of God as well.
CHRISTENINGS are often held during a Sunday Service. The C15th Font bear the initials of the 1672 Church Wardens and a fitting place to welcome the faithful into the Church today.
FUNERAL SERVICES are still held within the Church but the churchyard is now closed.
